Eli Lilly Choose BASC as one of their Christmas charities
Here’s what they said:
The management, staff and contractors employed at Eli Lilly S.A., Dunderrow, Kinsale, annually run a series of fun events just before the Christmas break to raise money for charity. The money raised at these events is then shared between a number of selected local, national and international charities. Charities are proposed and sponsored by employees and contractor staff and selected through a selection process.
I am pleased to inform you that Bandon Area Special Childrens Group (BASC) has been selected by the committee to receive funding from our 2011 activities.
West Cork Honda 50 Club
Approximately one hundred Honda 50 bikes took to the road on 27 August to raise funds for BASC. They gathered in Bandon GAA Pavilion and were welcomed
with tea and scones.
The bikes left Bandon and travelled through Dunmanway and Bantry and stopped for refreshments in Durrus and then visited the beautiful Mizen Head.
The group returned via Schull, Skibbereen and Clonakilty.
The tired bikers were treated to a barbeque cooked up by Jack Hallissey, music and chicken bingo to finish off a lovely day.
BASC wish to thank the people of West Cork for their extraordinary generosity. We wish to thank all the suppliers who donated to the Honda Run, especially SuperValu Bandon, Jakes Café, Noel Caplice, Robert Gabrial, Tobin's bakery, Jack Hallissey, Calltrim Foods, Coolmore Cakes, Martin Desmond, Denis Hayes, Joe and Niall McCarthy for facilitating us in the Bandon GAA Pavilion, Maybury Buses, Dunmanway, Clona Milk, O'Learys Fashion and members of the Friends Together Group who helped us on the flag day. BASC also wish to thank our friends and family who helped us collect on the day.
Most of all, BASC sincerely thank the West Cork Honda 50 Club for nominating us as their sole charity. We appreciate the time and effort that went into organising such a big event. The club members are too many to thank individually but special thanks to Benny, Mick, Paddy and Nora McCabe.
To celebrate the events success, the Honda 50 Club presented the funds to BASC on Friday, 7 October in Bandon GAA Pavilion at 9 pm. The parents and
children of Bandon Area Special Children (BASC) wish to thank the West
Cork Honda 50 Club for choosing BASC as their sole charity for the
recent West Cork Honda 50 Run to Mizen Head. Their generous donation
will help us fund our social club for children with special needs. BASC
also wish to thank local businesses, too many to mention who supported
us with supplies for the day out. Finally, BASC wish to thank everyone
who contributed to our collections throughout West Cork.Club News
